Anticlines That I Have Known and Enjoyed
Anticlines of the Coahuila fold thrust belt.
(At nightfall, Avery and I had been dropped off in Bustamante, Nuevo Leon. We'd taken the bus from Monterrey to the wrong Potrero Chico, putting us two hours north of our destination at dusk... so we thumbed a ride thirty minutes north to Bustamante, where I'd read of some fantastic outcrops...
Facing a four kilometer walk along gravelly pueblito roads to the canyon wasn't ideal for our tired 20:00 selves, and luckily...
Isabela, the local policia officer found two straggler gringas walking around and swooped up Avery and I! (We're all friends on facebook now).
Isabela dropped us off in the dark... and early we woke up to find ourselves right where we wanted to be. The luke warm hot springs/stream were a surprise too.
Time to head south to the actual Potrero Chico... but these guys took us the other way to their goat ranch!
So, we enjoyed the dolomite anticlines from a new perspective...
...after a few hours, we made it out of there.
